Well, I've been afraid of changingThere was an article or picture going around Facebook a few months ago that really hit me. There are only 940 Saturdays from the time our child is born until they're 18.
'Cause I've built my life around you
But time makes you bolder
Even children get older
And I'm getting older too
Wow. It goes by so fast.
In less than 3 years I will have an adult.
The past year has been full of so much change and I have seen so much maturity in my children, especially the girls- Olivia has blossomed into a mature, thoughtful young woman who is learning to be herself in the face of peer pressure and the world in general. It is amazing to watch. Mesa has begun to come out of her shell a bit. She still prefers her room and a good book to people, she's starting to want to be out more and do more things.
I don't want to miss a thing.
I spent too much time wondering and worrying about what other people would think or say about our family, about our parenting, about our life. I wasted so much time. I'm more deliberate now. I'm more mindful and I'm not distracted.
The time is short and I'm going to get all I can out of it.
